Artist's Description

A very noble bird indeed is the Blue Heron. The only way to get reasonable images of the wild heron is from the water. My approach is using a kayak. Now just think about (photo) capture using a heavy 400mm lens from a floating kayak on the river - and not spooking the heron by flailing paddles and hardware. There is no place to hide. Aye, this is the art! This bird spooked 3 times at other points on the river. The 4th time was magical. Majestic, stately are not an exaggeration. This was a formal portrait stance if ever there was one. The warm sunrise was just rising above the tree line He lined up, leaned into it and was not budging. Truly heart stopping. Image # 8600.
