Artist's Description

Ten miles from Pemaquid Maine, the cliffs of Monhegan rise above the waves of the Atlantic.
The name likely derives from Monchiggon - Algonquian for "out-to-sea island." More recently, the likes of Henri, Kent, Hopper and Wyeth have come here for inspiration. The image is rendered in what is best described as modern pictorialism.
