The cliffs of Monhegan Island's east shore are among the most dramatic on the US east coast. Artists like Henri, Kent, Wyeth, Hopper and many others have been drawn to the wild coastline and the island community for their inspiration. Here Black Head cliff rises above Squeaker Cove along the eastern shoreline. The image is rendered in what is best described as modern pictorialism.

Photos in the Farmington River gallery come directly from his time kayaking on and around that river. Breathtaking images appear on the river for a short while at the beginning of the day, and many are unique to the sunrise event. The variety that light generates on and in the water is endless.
